Insurance apps on your phone can be a great help in managing your child’s healthcare if used correctly. Some ways you can use it include:
Digital ID cards: Sometimes we forget our insurance card and don’t realize it until we are standing at the front desk before our appointment. The Digital ID card removes this as a risk of you not being seen that day.
Finding a Provider: Whether it is a specialist or primary care provider, you can find one that meets your needs. You can filter by location, accepting new patients, or languages spoken.
Claims Management: Any claim, either a recent appointment, emergency room/urgent care visit, imaging, labwork, or hospitalization can be seen on your mobile app. You can see how much your insurance paid and how much you owe. It will give a breakdown.
Estimates: If you are not sure how much a procedure or visit may cost, the mobile app can give you a rough estimate based on your specific plan.
Pharmacy: You can use the mobile app to complete price comparisons for a specific medication or even set up mail-order prescriptions.
Changing PCP: Rather than being on hold for hours with your insurance company, they have made switching your Primary Care Provider seamless through the app.
As we prepare you to transition with us from Dr. Nina Pediatrics, we want to make this process easy for you. One of the main changes we need to make to keep continuity of care for your children at our practice is switching the Primary Care Provider.
